I have tried many ways to do this. One big problem is that users invariably don't look at fields below the text when creating a post - so if the default is yes the some (who don't want a bot answer) get annnoyed by a bot answer they didn't want but if the default is "no" then others are annoyed...
I have achieved something similar by this by adding text above the reply using an ads position above message content:
https://cafesaxophone.com/threads/multiple-musical-genres-how-many-mouthpieces.34523/post-510457
Uses a conditional to restrict it to bot replies
<xf:if is="$post.user_id ==...
@JoinBeta yes indeed please. We are actively using ChatGPT Autoresponder and currently having a lot of user feedback.
I think it would be very useful to try this and see how it works for us
It would be good for the reply limit to be on a per forum basis, so that some forums might have just one response, other could be more.
I have found that when there are further responses via the bot being quoted this is less useful in serious info forums because users pile on and start arguing...
It's great to have the replies field either yes or no default. But would it be possible to have it unticked by default, and the option to make it required or not.
This is because whatever the yes/no option is set as default some users just don't see it. So many may even miss the opportunity to...
The more I think about this the more it seems if it is disabled on a forum then it has to be totally disabled.
Maybe it would be best to have an admin option choose the yes/no default on a per (enabled) forum basis. Disabled forums just have no bot allowed.
Yes. Because (understandably) some users like to play with it ( “bait the bot”). And you can do that by treating it like a person so rules would be difficult.
I’d always want options to be off by default
No because we are all experimenting. I would not know how to phrase a warning about what is abuse. I would rather not have it than end up with more rules and discipline regarding things that many people would not understand the reasons for when they think they are just having a bit of fun or...
I find the chatGPT bot is great, and it's good that it can respond to quotes but some members are just jumping on a reply (in a serious thread) wanting to bait the bot which, admittedly, can be fun but depends on context.
So I'd like to see an option (for more serious threads) that only the OP...
I'm not sure how possible this is but I'd really like some way to make the Chatbot replies stand out, e.g a style property define a different color the background.
And/or a message at the top of the post to indicate the reply is not a human reply
I second this. It seems some users love the bot, others hate it
So
an enabled forum is where it is ticked on by default but can be turned off by user
a disabled forum I can be (a) ticked off off by default but can be ticked on by user or (b) just off and cannot be turned on.
Thanks
However I can see one problem in that members without permissions will not know why some people can ask the bot but they can't do it themselves.
I would like to see permission based option to enable for any threads whether or not the bot is enabled for that node. This would be good for certain trusted uaergroups or admins to be able to get a bot reply anywhere.
However if it was an option without permissions, I think you'd get a lot of...
